Prayer Connect: February 02, 2010

2/3/2010

Where does revival begin? Some say it begins with the very worst sinner "in town" getting saved.  They say that would shake the community. Perhaps. But according to God's word, the revival begins with the very best saint---not the worst sinner.

Now while that may appear to be surprising, don't be shocked when the "best saints" in church get stirred up in their heart, and begin giving themselves to more prayer and seeking the face of God. In fact we should more shocked if they aren't doing this.

Revival begins with the best saints, however you may define that, who pour out their hearts in confession of lukewarmness or spiritual lethargy. We all battle with lukewarmness and complacency. None of us are exempt from it.

Revivals are born in prayer meetings and prayer rooms OR prayer wombs. The level of prayer determines the level of revival. One writer says, "We can experience revival without preaching (this is not to relegate preaching to unimportance) as the Day of Pentecost demonstrates, but never without prayer.

30 DAYS OF PRAYER - PRAISE REPORTS

As prayer minister in our church I've seen God do many wonders that I personally know was straight from His throne, it was the only way it could happen. I feel to relate what has happened to me personally on the 21st day of this prayer and fasting. I awoke that Friday thinking I need to fast today, our church collectively fasts on Wednesdays so this was not a usual thing. Later that morning I received a call from the hospital, my grandson had been in a horrible car wreck on his way to school. His car hit a ditch became airborne, rolled, crashed into a tree, he was caught hanging upside down entangled in his seat belt and the car was burning. Because of the goodness of God two men who saw the whole thing, even though they were sure he had to be dead due to the severity of the crash, began trying to extract him by smashing into the car just before it was completely engulfed in flames. Everyone who has seen the pictures of the car and those who witnessed have said this is a miracle; no one should have lived thru this. My grandson has no injuries at all except a sore knee from hanging by the seatbelt, no burns, not even singed, and no bruises. Only Jesus!!!

Last week I requested prayer for my five-year-old nephew, Michael, He had an MRI Monday and they did not find anything abnormal. Praise God! They are still working to find the cause of his symptoms. We are believing God for COMPLETE healing! Thank you for helping us pray.

Blessings,

Debbie Akers, Daughters of Zion Coordinator for Ladies Ministries.

My eleven-year-old granddaughter has a friend who had a heart-attack last Friday while playing soccer and was on life support. Alexis and the other kids prayed for her during kids' prayer Sunday night before church. The doctors began to disconnect the machines today to harvest the organs as the mother watched the monitors flat line. Then the heart gave a blip. The doctor shocked the heart.ors flat-line. Then the heart gave a blip. The doctor shocked the heart ... the heart started beating on its own. Devon went to the hospital to see the family and the girl is making a great recovery. We heard about it after Devon placed a call to the children's prayer leaders tonight at church. Bev asked Alexis why she didn't tell her about it. "Well, I didn't think there was need to since we prayed for her last night.

PRAYER FOR THE NATIONS - PSALM 2:8

"Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession."  NIV

Below are the nations we are focusing on this week.

Togo

Togo:

Population: 6,031,808

Religion: Christian 29%, Muslim 20%, indigenous beliefs 51%

Government Type: republic under transition to multiparty democratic rule

Prayer Point: Pray that God can breakdown distrust and suspicion between different denominations and bring a greater spirit of unity to see Christianity spread across the whole country.

Tonga

Tonga:

Population: 120,898

Religion: Christian (Free Wesleyan Church claims over 30,000 adherents)

Government Type: constitutional monarchy

Prayer Point: The growing Chinese community is an only unreached people group on the islands. Pray that Christians would develop friendships with people immigrating from Hong Kong and China and be able to share Jesus with them.

Trinidad and Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago:

Population:1,229,953

Religion: Christian (Free Wesleyan Church claims over 30,000 adherents)

Government Type: parliamentary democracy

Prayer Point: In the past political parties have been driven by ethnic conflicts - pray that the government would be fair for all.

Tunisia

Tunisia:

Population: 10,486,339

Religion: Muslim 98%, Christian 1%, Jewish and other 1%

Government Type: republic

Prayer Point: Tunisia appears to be a Muslim country, but all this is just an appearance; it doesn't reflect actual belief or commitment. In reality people are pursuing dreams of earning more money and doing better for themselves. Pray that this spiritual emptiness would be replaced with a desire to find out more about the God who created them and loves them.
