Prayer Connect: March 09, 2010

3/9/2010
On Friday, March 5, 2010, at 7 pm at The Sanctuary in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. David K. Bernard was installed as the seventh general superintendent of the UPCI. The ceremony was blessed with a deep presence of the Holy Spirit from the moment it began until the closing prayer. While there was a certain solemnity, the service was by no means somber but moreover a joyous ambiance prevailed with moments of levity.    ...[more]

God-called intercessors are recognized by various characteristics they manifest over time. As we mentioned earlier, they are known because of their self-initiative. They are self-starters because their calling is to pray. Again, these men and women do not need a call from their pulpits to pray. Basically God calls some individuals to a deeper level of intercession.   These deeper level intercessors are also known by the "size" of their prayers. By that, we mean, the gamut...[more]

The Bigger Picture

3/2/2010
Earthquakes, tsunamis', government coups, sickness, incurable diseases - it seems like this all we hear about in the news. Sometimes it makes praying easier because there is a lot to pray for. Many times I will hear about something on the news and say a quick prayer for the situation but when I do that I don't always think of people who might be affected that are not mentioned on the news. For instance a loved one that lives far away but is still in shock because of a death. Or someone who has f...[more]

It is truly remarkable the vast number of intercessors that the Lord Jesus is raising up in this late hour of human history. There are a few characteristics that set these intercessors apart from the general crowd of "church as usual."   True God-called intercessors generally do not need a call from the pulpit to pray; they have already heard that call from the Holy Spirit because of their close intimate relationship to God. So, long before the pastor begs, implores, or asks for t...[more]

Far too often we Christian feel totally overwhelmed by world events that "seemingly" render us weak and powerless.  However, the very events transpiring around us are indicative that God certainly is in control.     There are various ways Christians react to these prophetic events.  One way to react to these current events is to barricade oneself off from the world as though nothing is happening.  That kind of reaction may allow us...[more]

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.   Love suffers long and is kind; lov...[more]

Where does revival begin? Some say it begins with the very worst sinner "in town" getting saved.  They say that would shake the community. Perhaps. But according to God's word, the revival begins with the very best saint---not the worst sinner.   Now while that may appear to be surprising, don't be shocked when the "best saints" in church get stirred up in their heart, and begin giving themselves to more prayer and seeking the face of God. In fact we should more shocked if th...[more]

"Jesus, I am so proud of you" were the words that slipped from lips last week.  All spiritual activities that manifest later in a physical way were first conceived in the womb of prayer and prayer rooms perhaps should be called prayer wombs. Without even realizing what I had said, these words came from my lips last week, "I am so proud of You, Jesus!" What? I am so proud of you Jesus. Those are the words I spoke to Jesus in prayer.  We have answers to prayer all ar...[more]

Pray the Announcements

1/26/2010
Ever get bored with announcements made in church gatherings? Why not anoint them with prayer? State the announcement then have corporate prayer for the event. Example: "Vacation Bible School will begin in June." Pray for God's blessing on the activity. Pray that the hearts of the children will be ripe to hear about God. Pray for guidance, direction and anointing on the workers. "Outreach will be Saturday morning at 10:00AM." Pray that God will help each person to see the need for outreach an...[more]
